Janice Skiljo Haris, RN and President
Janice Skiljo Haris has over 15 years experience working in various areas of the occupational health and workers' compensation medical-legal community. She began as a cardiovascular intensive care unit nurse at Stanford, after which she became an occupational heath nurse administrator for a semiconductor company, then a paralegal in a workers' compensation firm, and later an operations vice president and physician trainer in a medical-legal disability reporting service.
Combining her industry experience with her Masters of Science in Occupational Health Administration from the University of California at San Francisco, Ms. Haris founded MEDLink in 1992 to be a comprehensive scheduling, management, and training service for forensic physicians and their clients. Ms. Haris has been active in several associations educating the workers' compensation insurance, medical, and legal communities.
Message from the President
After many years in the medical-legal field, I realized there was an absence of a physician scheduling service responsive to the community's needs. I created MEDLink to answer that need by combining my nursing and medical-legal experience to offer scheduling, management, and training support for expert forensic physicians experienced primarily in workers' compensation as well as other legal benefit systems. I made a conscious effort to affiliate with doctors who are motivated to provide prompt, sophisticated reporting and are willing to readily communicate with the insurance, legal, and employer communities. Since its inception, MEDLink has dedicated its efforts to coordinate, with select physicians, impartial medical-legal scheduling services and evaluations that are timely, cost-efficient, and legally correct.
Along with our dynamic team of schedulers and physicians, we plan ongoing recruitment of service-motivated doctors who have the required expertise to provide quality objective reports. Additionally, we plan continued refinement of our customized technical support system in the pursuit of maintaining the highest levels of service proficiency. Since the majority of communities we work with have access to the Internet, we plan to use our newly expanded web site to also offer e-commerce solutions for efficient scheduling. Our commitment to pursue value responsive services in partnership with selected, dedicated forensic physicians has made MEDLink a leader in the medical-legal consulting field. We intend to maintain and nurture this position to assist our insurance, legal, and employer clients in achieving fair, temporal medical-legal resolution of their claims.
